Priyanka Chopra is set to return to Indian cinema after six years, starring alongside Super Star Mahesh babu in SS Rajamouli's epic next, slated to begin production in April 2025.
Priyanka Chopra has been confirmed as the female lead in director SS Rajamouli's upcoming film alongside Mahesh Babu. This project marks her return to Indian cinema after a six-year hiatus since "The Sky Is Pink."
The film, an ambitious jungle adventure with mythological elements, is currently in the final stages of writing and is scheduled to commence filming in April 2025. Rajamouli sought a female lead with global appeal, making Priyanka Chopra the ideal choice. She has already begun preparing for the role, which includes significant action sequences alongside Mahesh Babu.
Shooting locations will span studios in India and the United States, as well as African jungles. The production is expected to continue until late 2026, with a grand theatrical release planned for 2027. Discussions are underway with global studios, including Disney and Sony, to co-produce the project.
This film is Rajamouli's first major venture following the successes of "Baahubali" and "RRR," aiming to redefine the adventure genre on a global scale.
