BJP MP Tejasvi Surya ties the knot with singer-dancer Sivasri Skandaprasad
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya married Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam artist Sivasri Skandaprasad on March 6, 2025, in Bengaluru. The ceremony blended Kannada and Tamil traditions, reflecting the couple's cultural backgrounds.
Sivasri Skandaprasad, born in 1996, is the daughter of Mridangam maestro Seerkazhi Sri J Skandaprasad. She holds a bio-engineering degree from SASTRA University but chose to dedicate her career to the arts, earning a degree in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras. She founded 'Ahuti,' an initiative focused on enriching young minds through Indian cultural experiences, and has gained national recognition for her work in arts and music.
In January 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised her Kannada rendition of a Ram Bhajan, highlighting her contribution to preserving cultural heritage.
The wedding was attended by top BJP leaders, and images from the event were widely shared on social media.
Tejasvi Surya, a lawyer by profession, is currently the Member of Parliament for the Bengaluru South constituency.
